COLORAM RESIDENCE BEAVER CREEK, COLORADO
![]() This luxury mountain mansion is nestled among stands of Aspen on one of Beaver Creeks most intimate sites. The house offers striking views of the golf course, ski slopes, and the resorts pedestrian village. With multiple floor levels, the elevated entrybridge arrives at the spacious central gallery on the main floor. The dramatic circular stair ascends to an overhead walkway that joins with the uppermost level of the house. The open plan allows for glimpses through the sitting room and the living room to the skimountain beyond. The formal dining area opens to a large sun deck, offering a sweeping vista of the entire Beaver Creek valley. Exline Design assisted MORTER ARCHITECTS of Vail, Colorado, in the design and presentation of this spectacular mountain retreat. Working closely with the firms principal Jim Morter, and lead designer Michael Hazard, Exline spearheaded the presentational efforts for the project. As a sympathetic response to its hillside site, the house expresses a comfortable balance of familiar sloping roof forms with the clean simplicity of contemporary detailing. The warmth of the native Colorado Rose Sandstone and clear heart redwood are complimented by the understated clarity of the homes gracious plan.
